How To Use The Jacobs Ladder

Jacobs Ladder is a simple cardio machine to use and operate. Here is a step-by-step procedure on how to use the machine.

1. Set your weight using the Reset Sensor.
2. Set your height on the height strap.
3. Attach belt to your waist – Jacobs Ladder logo should be right side up.
4. Climb onto the cardio machine. Accelerate slowly to let the machine adjust to your speed.
5. In order to stop, simply stop climbing and coast to the bottom.

Below is a list of recommendations and safety precautions.

• Always warm up at the slowest speed for at least two minutes. In your initial cardio workouts, it is best to pace yourself to gain an understanding of the machine intensity.
• Use opposing arm and leg movements (i.e. right arm/left leg —– left arm, right leg).
• Never take more than one step at a time.
• Practice going slow and allow the cardio machine to stop until you feel comfortable with the machine.
• Keep spine straight and relaxed (don’t hunch your back) – Upper body weight should be supported by arms.
• If you feel dizzy while using the hand-over-hand movements, use the side rails and concentrate on a lower body workout.
• Some people may be more comfortable wearing gloves.

The Jacobs Ladder Full Commercial machine is ideal for health clubs, universities, 24/7 facilities and businesses that intend to use it more than 4 hours per day. It engages the total body and will be one of the toughest workouts your members will ever try.

This highly effective machine measures 76" long x 31.25" wide x 325 lbs and is self generating so you can put it anywhere in your facility. It's slightly larger and more expensive than the Jacobs Ladder 2 but it also comes with a much longer 4 year warranty.

Jacobs Ladder 2 Cardio Machine

The Jacobs Ladder 2 cardio machine: Get the same workout and same reliability as the revolutionary Jacobs Ladder Full Commercial climbing cardio machine, yet designed for the home or smaller light commercial environments such as physical therapy clinics, personal training studios and hotels where it will be used less than 4 hours per day. Keep in mind putting this version in a full commercial setting it may void the warranty and your business may be held liable if someone is hurt or injured. 

Both of them only have a 7.5 feet ceiling height requirement. That's a much shorter requirement compared to most StairMaster, Nautilus and LifeFitness Stair Climbers.

There are 4 main differences between this model and the more expensive Jacobs Ladder Full Commercial machine. 

1. Width: Jacobs Ladder 2 is 27.25” wide to fit inside most interior doors in a home.

2. Rung Design: Jacobs Ladder 2 features a steel rung with polyurethane sleeve.

3. Power: The Jacobs Ladder 2 needs to be plugged in (110V) to operate the digital display.

4. Warranty: Jacobs Ladder 2 carries a 2 Year Warranty.

Jacobs Ladder Stairway

The Stairway is a stair climbing cardio machine designed specifically for the commercial environment. The unique design offers a rotating staircase where the speed of the stairs is controlled by the tension of the waist belt (which is identical to Jacobs Ladder). The higher you go, the faster the stairs come, so you are always in control of your speed. This cardio machine is self-powered so there is no need for a wall plug. The ceiling height requirement is 8.5 feet and the width is 30.5”, so you can place it where most StairMaster Stepmills won’t fit. The display gives Stairs Climbed, Rate (steps/min), Elapsed Time, Calorie Burn and Heart Rate (with wireless strap). Initial step height of 11” is among the lowest on the market.
